This is like one giant Ricki Lake episode, isn't it? Also great rant Hye, hehe. Oh and Milo, that last article reminded me of Drawn Together.

Milo's avatar is great, hehe! Maybe this can be our new LG replacement - Daddyboy13. It has everything we loved about LG. A kid with a secret, mysterious parents who are doing the wrong thing by the kid, a girl on the run, the media are quite a fitting Order replacement, hell there's even the ceremony baby. We could even try to crack down on where the baby is. Let's just hope the wait for the DNA test results isn't as big of a let down as the original not ceremony.

http://gawker.com/5155689/tabloids-inno ... baby-daddy

The quote in the article confirms all my suspicions. I am not surprised at all and yet am still totally disturbed to think the mother was back there telling the girl to shut up about her numerous other sexual partners so they could make money. I mean I KNEW that was the case all along to some degree, it is just scary to see it confirmed so boldly exactly as I thought. Remember just yesterday when the article was talking about the mother going BLAH BLAH BLAH I CAN'T HEAR YOU SHE ONLY SLEPT WITH ALFIE as others claimed they could be the father. It is so ridiculously juvenile and pathetic how transparent this whole story was, and yet The Sun should be absolutely ashamed for buying it without question. People this stupid with evil ploys this simple should not be allowed to triumph and make the front page. I bet it sold a lot of papers though which is all the really matters I guess, especially in this economy. The Sun probably knew exactly what it was doing..

UPDATE: First the "horny" sign now this: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... 250059.ece
WHY DO THESE PEOPLE EXIST?!?! It's obviously for more publicity but for all that is holy I don't even know if they deserve to be called humans anymore. The media needs to drop this disturbing story now and leave them alone to wallow in their own filth before they embarrass themselves further. I swear if any of them go on to get a penny out of this publicity...

EDIT: Too late, they already have: http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp ... =43117&c=1
That's where they got the money to make the hoodie.

Remember the good ol' days when all we had were 'virgins' 'auctioning' off their 'freshness' on the Internet? Those were such simple and innocent times.

What is it with these people and their spot on public portrayals?

alfie wearing that hoodie and the dad wearing the devil mask -- WTF!! -- i'm just speechless!

--

looks like the truth is coming out, the gawker story hye posted is being confirmed everywhere:

Young Brit dad story may be a hoax (UPI, Feb. 19, 2009)

HAILSHAM, England, Feb 19, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A 13-year-old British boy was put up to claiming he was the father of a 15-year-old girl's baby in an attempt cash in on the story, the Daily Mirror reports.

The British tabloid reported exclusively Wednesday that a close friend of Chantelle Stedman's parents said the girl was told by her mother to name Alfie Patten of Hailsham as the father of her baby.

Clive Sim, 39, contends the teen mom was ordered to keep mum about sleeping with other boys so the "teenage dad" story could be sold to newspapers for thousands of dollars, the Mirror reported.

"They know that Alfie being the dad makes a better story," Sim said. "I think there's a big scam going on here."

Other teenagers have claimed to be the father of Maisie Roxanne, the baby born to Chantelle this month. Alfie has said he wants to take a genetic test to prove his paternity.

Sim claims Alfie is being "exploited" by the families for financial gain.

"It's all pretty sordid," he told the Mirror. "Alfie may not be an angel and nor is Chantelle. But at the end of the day they are only children and it is the adults around them making bad decisions based on money, not their welfare."

I saw some interesting news related to something that Hye said earlier...

HyeMew wrote:Oh and the anti-abortion activist who is holding them up as models in the name of morality or whatever (if that Sun quote is true) is utterly shameless. This gives me nightmare flashbacks to the Sarah Palin crap. If Obama had a teenage daughter who got pregnant, he and she would be attacked by the right. Palin's teenage daughter gets pregnant and the right hails them as heroes for not having an abortion and taking responsibility. Some on the right, who are normally appalled by unwed mothers, were just about applauding them for it. The hypocratic dissonance is staggering.

Seems to me that Sarah Palin is now saying the bigger issue is not abstinence, but dealing with teen pregnancy properly when it happens:
SARAH PALIN: Exactly. Exactly. So you get behind that, that ideal of, yes, abstinence, you know? Hey, don't get pregnant. Well, get beyond that when it happens, and then you deal with it. Life happens. Life happens and you deal with it, and Bristol's dealing with it wonderfully.

Oh, and even Bristol says that "everyone should be abstinent or whatever, but it's not realistic at all"..."Because it's more and more accepted now." I wonder how that opinion would have held up during the campaign season.

Oh and back to the Alfie story, I have a 5-yr old nephew who looks about the same age as Alfie. There is NO way that kid is 12.

so this story kinda died in the british press after a gag order was placed on reporting new developments.

now they are trying to get some furor up over saying that schools are going to start teaching sex ed to five year olds because of alfie and rising young teen pregnancy rates. they don't say what the content of the education will be, leaving you to assume the worst.

Couldn't they just tell 5 year olds that boys have cooties? That worked when I was a kid.
